Successful weekend for rhythmic gymnastics
in the Berlin Kuppelsaal Olympiapark - 24.02.2024
Berlin experienced a long and exciting Saturday in the dome hall of the Olympic Park, which lasted late into the evening and featured fascinating rhythmic gymnastics competitions. Many European nations took part in this spectacular event, which was experienced as a real marathon by the organizers and numerous volunteers. In a breathtaking competition, Neele Arndt from Berlin narrowly beat the strong competition from Bayer-Leverkusen and won the coveted title of overall winner in the GOLD 2008+ group with an impressive 83,983 points. In second place was Anna Shenenko with 83,050 points, followed by Sofia Rosenberg, who completed the top field with 82,300 points. International guests from Norway, who came with a large delegation, also impressed and took fourth place with a total of 73,000 points. At the end were Sofiya Khrapachevska from SV Dallgow (RSG Brandenburg) with 59,166 points as well as Zlata Parafiinyk (TSV 1846 Nürnberg) and Kristina Mitzkewitsch (Bavarian Gymnastics Association) with 55,367 and 53,683 points respectively in places 13 to 15. A special highlight was the musical accompaniment , which highlighted the gymnasts' gymnastic achievements. In addition to the more regularly used sounds, some songs by ABBA, rock hits from the 80s and early 90s or by Udo Lindenberg were also presented, which accompanied the performances with an additional portion of expression and passion. The day of the competition was an impressive testament to the beauty and ambition of rhythmic gymnastics and promises equally exciting and thrilling moments as the tournament continues on Sunday.
